You did it!

Yea! You survived midterms! You will get your English midterm back on Monday. I'll describe how I graded it and some of the commonalities I found. For the most part, effort was the key to doing well.

I will be out Wednesday-Friday next week, But the good news is I will return with the projected ELA score knowledge! I won't be able to tell you your individual grades, but I can let you know if I will be a wig-wearer in March.

In the meantime on Monday and Tuesday we will dive into our new unit. Here is another question to get you reflecting on themes we'll discuss in class:

How do you handle major disappointments? Do you hide yourself away? Or do you need to talk it out? Can you think of a novel in which a character dealt with life changing news? If so, what was it? How did he/she react?

Midterm Week

Hi All-

Good luck on all your midterms. Remember you take your English midterm on Thursday. There will be three parts to the midterm. You will have to write from the perspective of someone else, analyze a poem and discuss the figurative language you found, and you'll be asked to interpret a quote and discuss whether you agree or disagree with it and WHY! If you have any questions be sure to stop in during Pathways.

Good luck and bring your independent reading books!

Directions

Good work finding the site! In order to post something other than comments, send me your e-mail address and I will place you on the authors page. You can send it to my school account and then you will be able to post like I have been. Meanwhile, here is a question for you to think about. You may add comments :) See you muffins on Monday.

Have you ever read a book with a character you would like to be friends with? What's the title? What was the character like?

Welcome!

Hello! Welcome to our class blog! In the near future we will be using the blog to talk about books we've read and questions that have come up in class. I will do my best to post special assignments and class information to keep you posted. This blog can be accessed from your home computers- not from school... So you do have homework! Get on and blog!
